Charles Edward Queen, age 72 of Bybee, passed away Monday, May 9, 2022.
Charlie loved life, and always enjoyed traveling around the area to see new things. Before moving to Newport, he grew up in Cherokee, North Carolina. He retired from International Paper Company, but will also be remembered for his career in semi-professional wrestling; where he was known as “The Renegade”.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sara Parker; his wife of more than 40 years, Lavada “Alice” Queen; and his friend and fellow wrestling teammate, Gene “Chief Thundercloud” Morefield.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Tammy & Steven Webb.
A funeral service will take place at 7PM Friday, May 13, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5PM to 7PM prior to the service. Burial will take place at 10AM Saturday, May 14, 2022 in the Joseph’s Chapel cemetery. Family & friends may also offer condolences online at www.brownfuneralhomenewport.com
