Obituary

Bruce Smith, 82 of Edwina TN, passed away after a brief illness on March 3, 2022.

He was born in Grassy Fork TN and grew up and raised his family in Upper Deerfield NJ. When he retired, he returned to Tennessee. Bruce was a happy man that did not know a stranger. He loved life. He enjoyed hiking, fishing and traveling to New Jersey to see his family. He always loved get-togethers, picnics and a good game of croquet! He was a good man, who will be deeply missed by both his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Fairy Fish Smith; his parents, Benjamin Lowell Smith and Allie Naomi Raines Smith; sister, Rhoda Travaline; brother, Harry Smith; daughter, Angel Smith.

He is survived by his children, Marie (Richard) Peryea, Lisa (Carl) Johnson, Jennifer Smith, and Ricky (Angie) Smith; Sisters, Laura (George) McCullough and Beverly (Brad) Bailey. He also is survived by his grandchildren, Richelle Peryea, Alexandria Peryea, Anna Smith, Dawn Jackson, Katherine Fowler, Amanda O’Quinn, and Robin, Lee, Tara, Michael, and Daniel Smith; great granddaughter, Jessica Fowler, and many nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.

Per his request, Bruce was cremated; with a Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
