Obituary

Wayne Harrison Messer, age 58, of Del Rio passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at Tennova Hospital in Newport.

Wayne was preceded in death by his mom Brenda Joyce Hazelwood; Step-Dad Benny Hazelwood; brother Roth Lee Messer Jr. and uncles Rick Mantooth and Herschel Mantooth.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years Tammy Kay Messer of the home; brother Darrell Messer of Del Rio; father-in-law Lonnie D. (Mary) Brooks Sr. of Del Rio who he loved like a Dad; mother-in-law Savannah Lane; sister-in-law Libby Brooks of Jefferson County brother-in-law Lonnie Brooks Jr. nieces Nikki Brooks (Shaun Cobbs) of Morristown; Amanda Foster and husband of Newport; Nephews Brian Messer of Cosby; Josh Messer of Del Rio; Bradley Brooks (Morgan Mooneyham) of Cosby; Timmy Messer of Newport; Roth Messer of Newport; a very special great nephew and several great nieces, nephews family and friends.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at 7PM, Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Brown Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 5PM to 7PM prior to the service; with burial scheduled for 11AM Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at the Brooks Family Cemetery in Del Rio.
